LeMoyne Arts' Zerbe Zelebration

  • LeMoyne Arts 125 North Gadsden Street Tallahassee, FL, 32301 United States (map)

The Zerbe Zelebration will be a citywide multi-media exhibition of Expressionist Movement artist Karl Zerbe’s works as we mark the 50th anniversary of his retirement from FSU. This Zelebration will kick-off LeMoyne's Chain of Parks Art Festival for 2021.  As a world-renowned artist and FSU professor, Zerbe entrusted LeMoyne Arts with the largest collection of his artwork in the world. LeMoyne Arts will be showing 7 never-before-seen pieces for the Zelebration, along with hosting lectures and round table discussions on civil rights, Zerbe’s art journey, and birding (Zerbe is best known in Tallahassee for his collection of bird lithographs, inspired by his time at St. Marks Wildlife Sanctuary). The Chain of Parks will also be posting multiple engaging social media activities, video interviews, and educational material on their website and social platforms.

In-person and virtual exhibits featuring Karl Zerbe and other artists he inspired can be found at LeMoyne Arts, Council on Culture & Arts online gallery and Tallahassee International Artport Gallery, FSU Museum of Fine Art, TCC Hurst Gallery, FAMU Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery, and the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce. This citywide Zelebration will inspire and strengthen our vibrant community in a fun and Covid-safe way. Come and enjoy all that the Zerbe Zelebration has to offer, and enjoy tasting the German-inspired custom brew created by Proof Brewing, in honor of Karl Zerbe's German heritage. It will be served at the festival and at venues that carry Proof Beer.
